2008 Subsidized Low-Cost Spay/Neuter and Vaccination Clinics Progress Report on Spring Spay/Neuter and Vaccination Clinics Russ Mann rode his Harley from Chelmsford (near Lowell), MA, to Kayenta, AZ, in a "Charity Ride for Homeless Animals" to raise awareness of the plight of homeless animals in Kayenta and to raise money towards funding KACS animal shelter. Frank Ramsey,with the assistance of the Kayenta Township, is trying to open an animal shelter in Kayenta. The Township has committed 2 acres of land and $90,000. towards a building fund to achieve this aim. In 2005, SNAP, a mobile spay/neuter provider, spent 4 weeks providing free spay/neuter in Kayenta. In 2006, Plateauland, another mobile spay/neuter provider, continued to visit Kayenta every other month for 1 day of low-cost spay/neuter. In 2007, Dr. Carol Holgate, of Tuba City, AZ, is offered a series of 6 Mondays in Kayenta of low-cost spay/neuter and vaccinations services, subsidized by the Pegasus Foundation.
