Background

Stray dogs hang around the town center and scavenge for food. They make a circuit through Basha's parking lot, Burger King/McDonald's/Sonic, the Holiday Inn/Hampton Inn, and the Chevron gas station. The dogs in these photos were photographed in January, 2005, and they are part of the Burger King group.

Frank working with Sarge, a stray dog who was rescued after being attacked by other dogs. Sarge's injuries were treated by Dr. Holgate, DVM, (of Tuba City), with financial assistance from Best Friends. Sarge then was transferred to the Second Chance Center for placement to a good home.
